I left Bowling Green this morning around 09:00 for a relaxed ride to Huron. I started in a very dense fog (that doesn’t sound quite right…) but it burned off within an hour. Once I got out of the city, I was on nice county roads without much traffic and I went through some little towns that had beautiful old homes in them. I also rode on two bike trails for a total of about 15 miles- they are so nice upon which to ride! I didn’t need to arrive at my WS house early so I took my time and enjoyed the scenery and the ride- I probably averaged 13 mph. I had a leisurely lunch in a bistro in Clyde and then hit the road again. For most of the day it was quite hot and humid but little or no wind. Later in the afternoon a moderate headwind came up for the last 25 miles of the ride. My last 10 miles were right on Lake Erie and the homes and setting reminded me of the Thousand Islands. I had a detour for a bridge that was out and rolled in to my WS house around 4:30 pm. Daily mileage: 81, Trip miles: 3,042.
It was a very dense fog when I started:
A pretty old home in Pemberville:
There was not much traffic on any of my roads today:
Some pretty old houses in Gibsonville:
It does look like the Thousand Islands! 💙💙💙
