Well, day one was a tough one… Our cool Bob Ibex trailers are really heavy- about 70 lbs when loaded- and they make our bikes handle very squirrelly. Our first 15-20 miles had many very steep, rocky hills that we just couldn’t pedal up…and pushing the bike and trailer up was soul crushing and extremely difficult. And we didn’t eat enough snacks, drink enough water or use enough sun screen… We will do much better tomorrow, trust me. Eventually (around 7:00 pm) John saw an abandoned road on the east side of Spray Lake and we wild camped which we found out (read tomorrows blog) is illegal in BC Provincial Parks. Totals for day one: about 27 miles and 3,000′ of climbing.

Epic day one!! Praying for you guys! Remember, every mountain you go up must eventually go down…

Sounds like a steep learning curve! I hope the trailers get more manageable and you guys get in the groove soon. Love you!! 😘

Oof…that crummy trail doesn’t aid in any way! Hard to get momentum on those rockier sections I’d reckon. Y’all will power through and be stronger for it! Much love from Katie and me!
