It was cold when we woke up this morning- in the mid 40’s. We each had a fantastic mights sleep- being tired and after cleaning off in a river.
The route today was all big rolling hills through beautiful scenery that risks becoming mundane- I mean it’s just one stunning mountain after another…
We did’n’t have any lunch with us so we stopped about every 45 minutes for a high carb snack. It was also very hot so we drank lots of water- filtered enroute- and used salt tablets every hour or so.
We are camped at a big municipal campground in Elkford, BC and had lovely showers, washed some clothes and ate a huge dinner with two (each) ice cold Kokanee lagers!
Tomorrow we have a steep 2,000 – 3,000′ climb out of town for crossing #2 and then a hilly ride to somewhere.
By the way, John is riding El Rojo and I am riding Ernie (Guzman). I will give you our trail names tomorrow.

Ahhh, Kokanee….brilliant beer brewed about 150 miles (if you could fly) away from where you were. Was an independent beer then purchased by giant Canadian brewery Labatt 35 odd years ago and not part of InBev. Keep biking…
