Today was 65 miles and 2,100’ of elevation gain; we averaged about 16.5 mph thanks to some lovely tailwinds. Lots of the riding was on beautiful bike paths/trails.
Yesterday we ended up in Fergus Falls and today we camped in Perham. I am using Pork Belly Charters- they set up my tent and put my duffel bags in it. In the morning I just put everything in my bags and leave them in the tent- it is a very smooth and easy process.
And the food is fantastic! BAM provides all dinners and breakfasts and some lunches enroute. They use local caterers and every meal has been huge and delicious! My typical breakfast is: yoghurt cup with another cup of granola added to it, an egg/sausage/potato/cheese breakfast sandwich, a couple of little bite sized quiches. Melon, grapes, a banana and a blueberry muffin.
Lunches and dinner are quite varied but equally delicious and filling. We also hit all the rest stops and pick up additional carbs via muffins, pie, Dr. Pepper and the like. I feel great during the rides and fall asleep immediately at night!
