Today was a short day riding from Perham back to Detroit Lakes- about 40 miles and 1,200’ of elevation gain. While we rode into a moderate headwind most of the day, it was all on bike paths and it was beautiful. Even with the headwinds we averaged 15 mph and I felt strong riding. Training in Greer is a huge benefit!
I declined to take a picture of the world’s largest loon and otter on our route but did get a photo with the world’s largest turkey. Couldn’t pass that one up.
We had s surprise when we rolled into Detroit Lakes- root beer floats! They were so delicious and refreshing I had two.
Janet met me just after I showered and we packed up my bike and gear and headed out to lunch. Life is very good!
