Tiger Mountain was my last mountain to go over in Washington! It was a pleasant 2,000′ climb and then about 15 miles riding on top. Beautiful wearher, too- partly cloudy and in the 50’s- the sun just felt good. I’ve gone over Rainy Pass, Washington Pass, Loup Loup Pass, Wauconda Pass, Boulder Creek Pass, and now Tiger Mountain (I think that is what it is called…). At various times I have been exhausted, dehydrated, cramped and freezing- but they are in my rear view mirror now! Miles today: 43, trip total: 404
Breakfast this morning: fantastic pancakes with applesauce, apricot sauce, rasberry jam, huckleberries, strawberries and whipped cream on top- everything home made:

My charming hostesses at the Barton’s farm (Ellie on the left and Claire on the right):

Scenery today- threatening clouds in the morning (leaving Colville) turned into a lovely afternoon rolling in to Ione where I am staying in the Porter Plaza Hotel

Wow, day 8 sounds a little better than day 7. It’s amazing you could experience near frostbite in July! Beautiful country again!

Jim and I are relatively In Your neck of the woods. Although we surely are well south of you, we cheer you on from the smokey region of Jackson hole. Tomorrow we will visit with the barkers then head down to Portland. Have a good ride through Idaho! Love, Jim n Peg

It all looks amazing – and you also seem to be really enjoying it so that is great. We will be thinking about you today as we ride 66 km in a “fun” ride. Stay safe.

Thanks for the posts Dave. I just read Days 7 and 8 to my Mom and Dad. My Mom is in a nursing home and my Dad visits daily. I take him 4 days per week, and I realized your blog will be a fun thing for us to read together. Go Dave!
If you want a contact phone number for the MS group, just let me know via email at fbzelt@aol.com

I’m glad you are enjoying the blog Fred. I’m looking forward to riding with you a couple of days if it works out. You (and your parents) are fortunate you live close to them and can help. I’ve had some conversations with my Dad about helping him and where that might be. I’m grateful I’m retired and will be able to help.

You Go Dave! It is great to read your posts daily. I am checking them everyday! Although you have endured freezing rain, green fingers and cramping legs when you were out in the middle of nowhere….it seems that your old bum is holding up quite nicely! I haven’t heard of any posterior problems at all, perhaps one of your strengths! Ha! Keep up the good work. By the way I left a short message on FB.

My bum is holding up nicely thanks to my Brooks saddle- but even if it wasn’t, some problems are best left private…
