We had a great mights sleep in our hotel (> 9 hours) and then a good breakfast at the chicken coop. We hit the road around 08:30 and had a beautiful ride up a small two-humped (bactrian?) mountain. The weather was partly cloudy and at least 10 degrees cooler than it has been. I think the high was around 75. We even stopped for a few minutes to try fishing at Cottonwood Lake.
We rode through an area that was burned by the Rice Creek fire last year- it burned over 160,000 acres.
We rolled into Ovando around 2:00 and they reserved the tipi (no kidding) for us. Ovando is a great little town and they really welcome cyclists. We got a cold beer at the Stray Bullet and then walked next door to get the low down on fishing around here. Now we are armed and dangerous! We are going to cook our dinner and then hit the restaurant for dessert.

My tricked our bear bell system engineered with toilet paper and duct tape. Everyone on the trail is talking about it. Really.
