After a really good nights sleep (10 hours) we had a big breakfast- because we always have big breakfasts- and then headed out on our bikes for a little fishing on the Blackfoot River.
A very short and nice lady, called Little Fish (really!) at our hotel drew us a map of a place not too far out of town that has good fishing. After pedaling only 3-4 miles, we crossed the river, parked our bikes and rigged up. We were both fishing flies, using spinning rods with bubble floats. It was a beautiful morning! We both had a number of strikes and good sized trout on but were not able to land any. Oh well, we were going to release them anyway…
After fishing we made hotel arrangements for Helena because we wanted to be close to a bike shop. Buck’s front hydraulic disc brake has air in it and is not working making the steep downhills quite exciting…
The restaurant didn’t have any pasta on the menu but the cook made Johnny and me huge plates of spaghetti with meatballs, breadsticks and a lovely salad. And then thanked us for being so nice… We recommend the Lincoln Hotel to anyone traveling in these parts.
