The weather/rest day was good for me; I felt pretty fresh this morning. I also slept 19 hours over the two nights, which didn’t hurt… So, after a whopping big french toast breakfast, I got my stuff together and hit the road around 10:00. I left at 10:00 because based on the weather radar I would have about 20 or 30 minutes of light rain and then 3 hours until the big rain and lightning hit. I figured I had about a 3 hour ride so it seemed like a good plan. I rode through about 20 minutes of drizzle on a paved rural road that followed a pretty little river. After another hour or so I crossed the Delaware River and rode back into New York. I then had about a 4 mile climb which woke up my legs and my heart! I rode along a ridge line for a while and it was very pretty. Just within the last week I am seeing many more signs of Fall coming soon- more trees turnimg color, lots more leaves blowing in the wind and the ferns turnimg golden brown. After I left the ridge line I had a few more miles of ups and downs and then a very nice 5 mile descent (which I will probably need to climb out, tomorrow) into the little town of Long Eddy. About 30 minutes after I arrived I started to hear thunder so the timimg worked out perfectly! It was a very pretty and short ride! Daily mileage 32, trip miles:, 3,594.

As I started climbing into the mountains, it got more foggy/misty:
I am riding on Route 97 now which is back on NY State Bike Route 17- notice the nice shoulder:
It is moderately hilly along this stretch of the route:
Signs of Fall coming- the ferns are dying back:
And more trees are turning color:

Your timing was brilliant on storm. If it wasn’t,I was going to say slacker. Lol. Not leaving til 10:00 am. Read everyday. Proud of you MAN. Keep pedaling.
