We left our beautiful camp on Red Meadow Lake around 09:00 this morning with only a 30 mile ride to Whitefish, MT. It was cool, but not cold, and mostly downhill for the first 10 miles or so. Our new, lighter trailers handle so much better on the downhills on loose gravel- we fly now!
We had a very nice ride, with a bit of what we call roly poly (up and down) and rode into Whitefish right at lunchtime and had an exceptional lunch and ice cold beers at the Great Northern Bar & Grill.
We checked into our hotel, did laundry, cleaned our bikes and trailers, washed our water bottles, picked up provisions, wrote two days worth of blogs, did some trip planning and then went out to dinner. After riding on dusty roads for many miles, we also have cleaned and lubed our chains to keep them in good condition. We have not had an overabundance of idle hours lately…
Our legs are getting stronger and we are gaining more endurance. We are also getting better at trip planning, and water and food management.
