We left at close to 6:00 this morning and it was beautiful! Cool, a little foggy and a very light breeze. We (Fred & I) stopped in every pass through town and had beverages in every one of them. And food in sone of them. I tell you, vodka and lemonade is a refreshing summer drink. It was a warm day but the wind wasn’t bad and we averaged over 16 mph for the 104 mile ride. I also got myself a stunning “ride Iowa” outfit for my birthday- I’ll post a photo of it tomorrow. One of the things I really enjoy is meeting and talking to people on the ride. RAGBRAI gives us a sort of license plate we can put behind our bike seat- you put your name and where you are from on it. I can then address riders by their name when I pass them. I try to encourage older riders and riders that seem like they are struggling a bit but I say hi to almost everyone.

We did see the Pork Tornadoes last night. They were not fabulous but I did get a Pork Tornadoes t-shirt…

I love all your pictures – but that raccoon 😳! It looks like at least a few riders added something. Sunscreen??

Another good day in lovely Iowa. Glad you are having fun and, it sounds like, you are getting plenty to drink. I am looking forward to having a lemonade and Tito’s with you. Hope the weather continues to be good for you.
Cheers, Ken
